چکیده

We report the association of Cristulariella moricola (Hino) Redhead with a zonate leaf spot on Eucalyptus benthamii (Myrtaceae). We observed the disease outbreak across a series of experimental E. benthamii plantings in Barnwell County, South Carolina, USA in October 2015. The disease caused nearly complete foliar necrosis of most trees in one experimental planting, but disease incidence remained at low levels (<10% of foliage affected in most trees) in other plantings. Disease development coincided with periods of extended rainfall, which has also been observed in outbreaks of zonate leaf spot caused by C. moricola in other tree species. © 2017 Elsevier Ltd. Foliar Fungicides for Control of Diseases on Pumpkins, 2001

Pumpkins for Halloween usage have become a widely grown crop in Tennessee. This season four fungicide treatments were evaluated for efficacy at The University of Tennessee Plateau Experiment Station at Crossville in 2001. Foliar diseases require a strict spray schedule for effective control. Therefore, a well balanced Integrated Pest Management program for control of mildew and blight diseases ...

In Vitro Cytotoxic Potential of Essential Oils of Eucalyptus benthamii and Its Related Terpenes on Tumor Cell Lines

Eucalyptus L. is traditionally used for many medicinal purposes. In particular, some Eucalyptus species have currently shown cytotoxic properties. Local Brazilian communities have used leaves of E. benthamii as a herbal remedy for various diseases, including cancer. Considering the lack of available data for supporting this cytotoxic effect, the goal of this paper was to study the in vitro cyto...

Aspergillus terreus Thom a new pathogen that causes foliar blight of potato

Foliar blight of potato caused by Aspergillus terreus is reported for the first time. The blight is characterized by a brown leaf apex amounting to 35‒65% of the total leaf surface. The pathogen was identified on the basis of morphological characters and ribosomal DNA sequence data. The fungus produced effuse white colonies, branched hyphae, broom-like conidiophores, and globose accessory conid...

Effect of Host Plant Resistance and Reduced Rates and Frequencies of Fungicide Application to Control Potato Late Blight

Late blight of potato (Solanum tuberosum, L.) caused by Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) de Bary, is a major worldwide threat to the production of high quality potatoes (12). Unchecked, P. infestans can rapidly defoliate plants in the field and can infect potato tubers when spores are washed into the soil (15). Prior to the early 1990s, the population of P. infestans throughout much of the world ...
